Disc Golf Champions of the Carolinas, Episode 1: Charlie Coleman

Filmed 11/26/2012 - Episode 1 of the series "Disc Golf Champions of the Carolinas" profiles North Wilkesboro, NC, native Charlie Coleman, who possesses one of the more formidable forehands in the Carolinas. Coleman took top advanced amateur honors at the 2011 PDGA Championship in Appling, Georgia, home of the International Disc Golf Center and Hall of Fame. Coleman was a top contender for the amateur worlds title this July in Charlotte, and in fact was tied at the top of the scoreboard after two rounds. After six grueling rounds, as well as a semis and final 9, Coleman finished tied for 3rd at worlds, only one stroke behind the runner-up slot. Future episodes will feature golfers either born in or residing in the Carolinas who have won PDGA or USDGC championships either on the professional or amateur level. Episode 1 was filmed at the Yadkin County Park in Yadkinville, NC.
